In contrast to yesterday's painting, the light is cool with touches of pink and soft yelloe, I think. At least, that is what I'm seeing on my computer. I love the rooftops, but again have wrestled with the light to create more of a contrast in my photo. It may be the time of year, but the misty light and the Paris sky are a challenge for me. Bravo Julian. I hope that you are enjoying the city that I love to visit.
Now it's the spelling of yellow that is incorrect. Clearly I am thinking of Paris and your painting. B.
I'm loving this one, as well :-)
I can just hear Yvon Montand - Sous le ciel de Paris - HA! we can dream!!!!!
Lovely painting Julian. I wish I was in Paris... sigh.
Love the way you paint the windows. Montmartre brings back memories... bitter-sweet, but I would not want them any other way.
Reverie Early in the morning. Glorious day. Narrow high pitch streets, sloping roofs reflecting the sky. Montmartre is waking up; The shopkeepers are opening, two lovebirds open their heart: life is everywhere. Tertre square: the artists are unpacking their things, holiday makers and rubbernecks are...rubbernecking! I imagine Toulouse Lautrec and Picasso drinking a liqueur absinthe with some women with easy virtue...Further, an accordeonist is singing "çà, c'est Paris !". And I lose myself into the geometric shapes of Julian's sunny paintimg....
Oh, this one I really love. The contrast of darks to the pale distant city is beautiful.
