julian, you are finding your truly zen moments when painting these gems--something about the color and composition of this one, the looseness and the tightness of the forms. very yin/yang.

Julian, this is a really great painting. I love how you have interpreted the rocks. It reminds me of areas in Red Rock Canyon outside of Las Vegas, where I have hiked countless times. It makes me homesick for the desert. I also love the "zen" clouds. Simply wonderful!

Julian, Becoming too abstract, does not look real. Although colors are great.

Ray, If you want real, go take a photo. A good painting is taking "real" and making it more beautiful as Julian has done here. I feel I have been there before. Bravo. Great feeling. Wish I had won this one.

It is wonderful above Gigondas -- painting rocks & 'sous-bois' of these types of wild places IS a very difficult thing to do. Bravo Julian, nice to see you taking on challenges, Bonne chance.
