The lemon, those leaves, that bowl... such beauty dropping in on a grey winter day. I can reach out, touch them and feel spring again.

The bowl is magnificent—how it separates from the background, the colors, the reflections. Wow a whole story in the reflections. Is that your studio with the light in the windows?. I see a tiny portrait of you working in the lower right. And more, but I’m probably reading too much into it? Just a brushstroke for a window, more complex ones for your face and hand on the painting. And who is the bearded old man along the rim? I could get lost in this painting. Love it.

The black bowl has served me well, I picked it up from a potter in St. Remy-de-Provence many years ago.
