I really like this Julian. I find wearing spectacles a nuisance to negotiate and paint in self-portraiture while doing without them presents a very different sort of challenge!
I have to say this is a tremendous portrait which is so enhanced by those challenges — it comes together really beautifully. I sorely missed this one at the BP awards this year. More please (et sans lunettes)
