“I have a shared studio while I'm in Civita Castellana, so I took advantage of the dinner hour and early afternoon while everyone was out and painted this on a window sill”

So, the painting will remain on the windowsill? ;-)
While I very much admire your looseness and free style of painting and wish I could do the same, I must say that when I see such a lifelike (but still loose) painting, such as this, it really knocks my socks off!!
This is incredible work!!! The colors and shadows ... and that touch of green is amazing.
I just want to pick up one of those perfect plums and take a bite.
