“This involved a mile hike up hill and down dale. I set off at six in the evening as before that it is unbearably hot (even at six it was 95 degrees but at least there is more shade) and therefore the light was changing so fast that by the time I'd finished everything was in shade except the distant field. I so appreciate your doing this as I do know what heat (and humidity) is like living herein Florida....but your painting is wonderful and those orange-y colors surely show the hot!! Hope you got home and took aniceool shower......
The life as a painter can be a struggle sometime but we need to always try and enjoy the journey. I'm sure that the mountains of France are looking pretty good right now. I live and paint in the mountains of North Carolina and I love it because I can always find a cool shady place to paint each morning.
I love your daily paintings and posts.
Thanks for sharing. You constantly inspire me to paint often and persevere!

Your capturing of the light in this painting and the previous one is nothing short of miraculous. Wonders! Thank you.
That mile walk up the hill was worth every step - so you could create this miniature masterpiece of light and shade.
