Dear Julian,there has been some very fine landscapes on show lately,the wheat and the lavender, what a delicious mix. The foreground of this scene has such a light, playful touch. A perfect homage to nature's reckless abandon in your summery Provence.I can well imagine how you are trying to escape the worst of the heat to be able to paint, same conditions here in GB (for now), yesterday was the hottest July day ever recorded. Could have fried an egg on the patio pavers!

Thank you - such a beautiful piece! The joyous evocation of dappled light and shade in the foreground is like laughter for the eyes.
