This is quite beautiful. I love the combination of the hard yet fragile glass and the soft fragile flower. Flowers and glass always, or sometimes, remind me of Manet's Last Flowers - flowers in glass vases. Very poetic in so many ways.
Dear Julian,yes,I'm back swooning. It could not be a more perfect painting for me at this time, love your romantic roses and reflective glass. Tinged with a certain melancholy over the summer that is drawing to a close! Going under the knife next week, hopefully to return to see more of your wonderful paintings.... just wanted to let you know how much appreciated you are, ever since that day some time ago, when I found your paintings, supposedly by chance and was compelled to comment, it was a stunning, golden quince, if I remember right.
