Because of the size of the peaches, this is not really a figurative painting. This "still life" reaches the Abstraction, exactly as the paintings of Rothko are not an evocation of realistic descriptions of Nature, but the sensorial sublimation of reminiscences from the artist in front of real landscapes. Here this painting shows us a succession of colored lights and darknesses from the left to the right, with two continuous bands of color: a dark one in the upper side and a light one in the lower part.

Great to see a still life of peaches, Julian you really excel in your still life paintings.

If those peches are missing, I know where at least one of them is! I just cut it into our fruit salad!
