Oh, that looks like that would have been hard to do, but you pulled it off.
Nice jug!
Gorgeous - I can "feel" that enamal - nice colors too! Good grief - is he three already?
Hi Julian , excellent work on the enamel jug , the blue trim and reflection are masterful. Love it. We had about three inches of snow last night!! Thanks Craig
Dear Julian, what a wonderful lustrous enamel jug, white but looking pearly grey in the faint light. The classic dark blue rim, perfection with the deep yellow of the lemons. An understated, exquisite painting.... just can't stop gazing at the reflection on the jug and inside of the spout. Anna.
I love the position of the jug that you chose. As the pixels populated the screen, for a second, I couldn't figure out what it was. And then it sprang into comprehension. I'm also loving the little notes about life as an artist and the father of a three year old. It's so fun to reexperience life through L.'s eyes.
A menacing reflection as impressive as a sudden streak of lightning in a peaceful sky will strike a lemon. But the lemons seem to soundly sleep: they probably know that all is illusion in painting.
Great little painting and now thanks to Alain the first thing I see is the streak of lightning - and coming from the rim of the jug it really is a "bolt from the blue".
