Dear Julian, it took us a few extra days but we finished our paintings to celebrate your 2000th. We set up three luscious Georgia peaches and a jar of little zinnias under the mulberry tree, squeezed out colors onto vintage fondue plates and talked about how you would proceed. A good time was had by all!

Dear Julian, a thrilling, luminous turquoise! The rich, dark colours of the sticky ripe figs are in perfect harmony with the background. A sumptuous little painting!
Anna.
P.S. Would make a beautiful card.

All the right colors in all the right places! A perfectly designed little painting - you make it look so easy, but your vision and master's touch make everything come together.

and to eat!! my favorite memory of Provence, in 1979, staying at a former chateau. by the side of the swimming pool lined with statuary. went out towards the field of grapevines to find a fig tree and luscious fresh ones like yours. thanks for bringing it back so beautifully.
