“The vines and some trees are just starting to turn, though one forgets that the pruning of vines and village plane trees can be sudden and brutal in France—you wake up one morning and it suddenly looks like winter!”

Not being from France, I found the extreme pruning of the plane trees particularly painful. Perhaps I should have learned from this glorious country. Perhaps my 100 year old vine would not have been blown down in the winter wind.
I may have said this before, but I think no one portrays the sunlight on this seasons' leaves quite as well as you.
Beautiful painting. It makes me feel nostalgic. Hints of the past and coming season.
