Julian, thank you for today's MON AUG 27 postcard. I think your handling of the silver cup and the subtle hidden delft piece and the mahogany surface were perfectly done. What an amazing thing that every day you produce and send out all these delicious pieces for us to view and become entranced by. Rembrandt, Cezanne, and Matisse never gave such daily gifts to their audience of viewers. once more, thank you for my daily gift of beauty, skill and exquisite image. cheers, geo

Hi Julian What I like about this is to see the combinations you make using the delft vase and silver goblet. It seems to me that is is more autumnal in look.

Love it, but hope you will soon do some of your lovely countryside that will sing of the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.
I can smell those apples!

Ardent closeness between the yin and the yang.Hot and sweet. The white highlight on the top is a wonderful symbol of purity.

the delft a perfect background for all the roundness and the blue just the right note of color. so happy to see it again.thanks as always. gfs

Looking for variations in my limited still life set up I ended up using the back of a mahogany palette for the dark slightly reflective surface—it gives the illusion of a real piece of furniture
