Stunning Julian, you've captured the light reflecting off the track perfectly. It's not easy painting bright, sunlit scenes but you've nailed it in this one.

Hi Julian and Louis

I love the lines the point toward the house as it draws me into the painting. Who lives there, I wonder and what are they doing Ar they getting ready for honey with lavender. Louis might like that.

You make it look so effortless. What's the board coated with, is it gesso? The expression that the brush strokes leave is awesome.

Being new to life is so precious!! A lovely painting!! No bee stings, now, but lavender honey would be a treat!! C-Marie

What fun for Louis, bees, lavender and Daddy painting! And Momma of course. Lucky boy! Great addition!

Another beautiful painting! We've been in your part of Provence for the last two weeks and have seen many of the places you paint. Have seen the lavender at Senanque and Valensole, so lovely with the scent and the intense purple colouring contrasting with the creams and greens. Makes your paintings even more special and memories of your paintings made seeing places even more enjoyable. Would have been lovely to have met you and to have seen the real thing. C'est .la vie! I'll be following again when I get back to Oz. Many thanks for sharing :-)

Painter’s notes

Louis likes pointing at the bees on the few lavender plants we have near the house and proclaiming... honey!
