Wonderful flame-haired background which so romanticallly marries the flaming onion.

The delicate paper-thin skin of the onion is particularly lovely.

I am so pleased that your painting of the onion features prominently on the Facebook page. That is one worthy onion!!

I was so intrigued by the name for this onion that I looked up its history. I must say that I am equally fascinated by the unusual background for this Roscoff. It works well, as Alain has already noted. Now I will try to figure out why.

Tried to paint an onion myself today as part of a still life, I almost pulled my hair out. IT very hard to get the colors right. Carol

The small goatee, the leaning positioning, the bent stalk, the crackle of the highlights of the onion, all subtly echo back this bustling background.
