I have been staring at the skin of this apple
for a long while. Once again, you have captured the nuances in subtle shades. And of course, captured the smooth reflective glass.Marvelous, Julian!
Your still lifes have made me change my perspective to a "mouse view" rather than the "adult at the table" that I've used in the past.
Trying for some of the intimacy that you always manage.
I can feel the crunch in what I presume is a new crop apple. The colours, the shape make me focus onhow beautiful this fruit really is, Next year I will be able to taste them myself.
This is fantastic! I have just finished painting an apple with cheese and couldn't believe how difficult it (the apple) proved to be. Cezanne wanted to 'conquer Paris with an apple', I think you've done it with this one!
In spite of the self-assured ray of light, which has taken up residence in the glass,an apple, still vivid,is,little by little, going to lose itself in the dark...A metaphoric view on life I feel here, all the more, underlined by the crackling brushstrokes...
