No question about it Julian. There is a love affair going on here. And it's beautiful!
Mine too. Both in the hand, the mouth, and visually. I'll never forget picking them right off the tree, on a huge ladder, in my friend Philippe's country place in the Lot et Garonne. You make me cry, you meanie!
I didn't mean to say "both" and then name 3 wsys.... These are utterly splendid, and I'll think of your painting when I eat my first ones. Life is rich! Merci!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing. I brought home my first cherries from the market today. Could not resist. Beautiful, just like your painting.
superb drawing!
Man O man, you really do have a thing for cherries, they really do look luscious, one could easily scoop them up and swallow the lot, fabulous, I love that glaze, I can never do glazes well, anyway beautiful thankyou again Julian. regards Ruth
Julian, this delicious painting reminds me of..."The Raft of the Medusa" by Gericault but only about their similar composition, not by the feelings both they express of course. Here I think the leaves are equivalent to the main sail, except they laid on the side; the stalks at the top of the painting, equivalent to the black men hopelessly agitating cloths. And the cherries...the survivors in the foreground! http://agutie.homestead.com/files/balsaenglish.html
