yet another spectacular in the lavender gang--the perspective is particularly cool with the lavender more subtle and secondary but still a key. meant to comment on the plums from last week--extraordinary and maybe your best fruit ever from your monster fan of all the apples.
The mountain Far away Is spreading out Her wings Under a pure sunny sky It is raining down A stream of golden ears This landscape as weightless As a hot-air balloon Is on the point of Taking wing !
This is extraordinary!
sorry for the repeats--technological idiocy on my part
Hi Julian The painting is very mysterious. In addition to the lavender, is there someone or a couple behind the line of wheat? What are the buildings in the distance? Who what is in them? If there are people what are they doing? Are there people on the hills? Perhaps some of the cyclists came back having smelled the lavender and briefly experienced the area. I certainly would have returned. This is a very sensual image!
Dear Julian -- I *love* this painting. You bring us right there into the thick of summer, into the thick of things... Was it the wind that tickled those grasses, or was that your brush? Thank you for all these windows on the world.
