This is superb. I like your still lifes, but I am very happy when the weather is bright and sunny in Provence, and you paint outside.
The still lifes have been gorgeous this winter and the recent peony portraits are amazing. They are probably my very favorite flowers. But I agree with Bob, I am so happy when you can paint outside. This is beautiful.
The light in this painting is amazing, especially the atmosphere leading to and on the mountains, but also the clarity of light on the road. Bravo!
The drop cloth, embodied by the trees by the left side of the painting, is opening: heavenly moment.Unbelievably impressionist! Tender green purple blue colours. How marvellous! So kind and caressing Julian. Technically, successive triangular-shaped surfaces which fit together; from near to far: purple shadows, vineyard, field on the left side, mountains and sky. Elongated Triangles everywhere like subtle perspectives giving the depth and the tempo like a silent waltz...
This looks so real. I love it. The lighting is just nice.
