I really like this one. Beautiful.
Julian, You positively have nailed these clouds!! They still seem to be moving. Great job. Linda
If Julian "nailed" these clouds, how could they look as if they were "still moving"? Just a careful reader of the comments as well as an admirer or Julian's paintings.
I can live with the mixed metaphor, what else is a painting? A landscape on a card. This reminds me of Constable's sketches Julian, great.
This is a beautiful little painting, the cypress makes me think of a church spire point to the majestic 'heavens'
One of the things I love about your work is the uninhibited way you seem to choose your subject matter and handle your materials. You just seem to enjoy painting so much, and to become so completely involved in just observing nature, with no preconceptions of the way a painting should look. The results are beautiful and honest.
I love getting your paintings in my email! This one is really wonderful.
Mixed metaphor is fine. I was just trying to be playful. Certainly didn't mean to offend. I especially love the name "fougassets," as it reminds me of the wonderful Provencal bread named "fougasse."
This is another beauty! (See how lost for words I am without Alain.) Whether or not you "nailed" the clouds, they are fabulous, and the light illuminating the tops of the buildings is magic.
come back Alain!!
Genius.
