I love the freshness of this painting, and the format lends itself to the subject. The Australian Impressionists known as the Heidelberg School had their first exhibition in 1889. It was entirely made up of 9" x 5" work painted on cigar box lids, and called, simply, The 9 x 5 Exhibition!
I feel that it just needs a fulcrum point
under the clouds on the middle right on the hills of the picture to intensify the movement and energy of the clouds..to give the image an anchor.
be it a barn or a tree or
having said that it is a wonderfully bold
painting.
