Vines from my Window

What an incredible painting...you must have a wonderful view from your window. The color in this painting is marvelous.

Proust once wrote about a Vermeer painting in which there was a yellow window (?) in a building painted by Vermeer. The next time my friend, who told me this, went to see the painting, in the Hague, the yellow window was gone. He was intrigued, disappointed, upset. When I saw your blue barn? building? -- structure -- I thought of Vermeer and of the mystery of what happened to that yellow window....Don't ever let this incredible blue structure, which focuses our eyes and spirit through and beyond the gorgeous golden vineyards, disappear. It is a splendid painting. Quelle incroyable idee! Elle est magnifique!

Hi Julian The blue building drew me right into the painting. It is (painting and building) as mysterious to me as the missing window in the Vermeer was to anon and his friend. It is a splendid piece. B
