House and Cypress Tree

Great horizontal lights and shadows countering the vertical thrusts of the tree and building! Love it!

I love the fact that in your landscapes one's eyes are almost always led away from the "present" and into the distance. Quite metaphysical. But the "present" is intriguing as well. The Ancients thought that one would die if one slept under a cypress tree. You seem to reverse the trend and lead one away into the beyond. That cypress is most "alive." Merci for another thoughtful painting.
