Free flow of the brushstrokes, dancing fluidness. Transparencies build the body of the pear, opacities build the wall behind. Subtle feminine sinuosity of the pear outlines echoing the vertical stiffness of the stalk, virtual line from the stalk crossing by the white highlight as the main axis of the still life that meets the horizontal line of the background and horizontal brushstrokes of the table, the forecast shadow giving to the blue background its materiality and consistency. And maybe the artist as a shadow inside the fruit close to the left of the white reflection: a glowing fruit as mirror of soul. A deceptively simple painting.
What blows me away is the difference in texture between the stem and skin. Not a little thing.
A cookbook should give your paintings a loving audience. Do you know the author?
