Beautiful painting, Julian.
Wonderful play with those yellows. I just saw Tiepolo's "Alexander with the Women of Darius" in the Detroit Museum of Fine Arts. He played around with yellows in that painting, too, very much as you did here. If you'd like to see, you can google it. Look at the most saturated version; it's the one that most like Tiepolo's actual painting.

I know you don't know when it's my birthday and I shouldn't mention it, what a glorious gift to all of us who celebrate this day! PS. I'm glad you rescued the spectacular leaves - so crisp and light next to the heavy and mellow fruit!
I found some very primitive quinces on my local market and could not resist painting them.Why are these fruits so appealing?
