I love this and hope there will be a print.
Am I the victim of a hallucination? These strawberries seem to me as candied fruits in a chocolate plate surrounded by a sine curve of ...Whipped cream!Even the table seems to be in milk chocolate! I have the impression this "innocent" painting is like a vibrant celebration of the weakness for sweet things.
Your strawberries become more luscious with each painting. And I agree with Alain; these seem very, very much like a marvelous dessert.
Scrumptious, Julian! (There's a Delius tone poem by that name, did you know? - "On hearing the first cuckoo in Spring" ! Personally, I prefer a handful of glistening strawberries, in a charming pie dish.
Mmmmmm, delicious. A fox has been stealing our shoes from the back door recently, our own odd cuckoo of sorts?
Hi Julian, a painter myself, I have to tell you, of all the strawberries, of the daily painters (thousand of them), and the one's I made, this stands apart, a true Masterpiece . Regards Mariano
julian, there is a great book, compilation of letters to london times , from 1900-1975 called 'the first cuckoo'...
Yum. I can taste them from here. What colors are the strawberry highlights? Do I have your consent to use? Many thanks, Elinor
Mariano is right. On the Merrow-Smith "Strawberry Scale" this one rates right up there with the best of them.
The fiest cuckoo in the Vosges is called le coucou de niege...I think it means just one more snow fall before Spring is finally here. Hope you don't have to suffer that! In the meantime, what delicious, sensuous starwberries. I agree w/ Alain...decadent!
