VACATION MUST BE OVER, AS BEAUTIFUL AS YOUR LANDSCAPES WERE I DO LOVE THESE STILL LIFES. YOU HAVE BEEN AN INSPIRATION TO ME THIS LONG SNOW PACTED NEW ENGLAND WINTER. i HAVE FOUND A NEW LOVE IN ATTEMPTING THESE SMALL STILL LIFES. CAROL
Apples with the heft and solidity of Cezanne's. Jet lag is a true bummer, but travel is so much fun.
Glad the still lives are back, too.
Oops, "lifes"
Tell me about it!
You'll be over the jetlag in time to celebrate your birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
The scenes from Bali were lovely and intriguing, but there is something so comforting about sturdy apples and a stoneware pot. This is beautiful.
Excellent. I have been looking forward to the new still lifes. It is just so damn good.
Gorgeous... but miss the sway of the palms.
A marvel of sleight and...Sensuous smoothness.
Welcome home! Good to see you back in the saddle.
This is so beautiful! Thank you.
Always love your apples Julian and have really enjoyed the different colors and subjects in your Bali paintings. I hope one day you'll be tempted to come a bit further to visit down under, we have a beach shack at Apollo Bay you could use, and a studio in Melbourne!! You'll love the light here, especially in autumn ....
.... also lots of friendly people and great painting subjects here in Sydney!
Julian, it seems that you brought the green rice fields of Bali into this perfect painting.
I love the quietness of this painting. I have so many questions... I'm learning to paint, and my main struggle is with composition at the moment. This is so deceptively simple.
