I hope this is pointing out the route for a UK summer with some strong south of france sun shine. I enjoy being pulled in to the paintings which show roads and paths.
Beautiful composition, Julian.
I'm expecting Napoleon's troops to come marching through this beautiful scene at any moment!
Julian, this is exquisite. I feel I am walking along the road, looking forward to being in the shade under the trees, and so enjoying the field of corn on the way. Beautifully balanced. Your weather has certainly perked up. You have so much detail in this picture. Have a good summer.
Just on the left, beneath the dark foliage, there is a small... Strange... Starry... Sky patch through which a triangular-shaped blue mountain (?)catches my eyes. Uncontrollably. Is it the Sacred Mountain I was looking forward to ? Before the bend, perhaps, a very old person sitting in the shadow on the foot of the age-old Tree would tell me the Truth... My Truth... Finally.
Why does this take my breath away?! An amazing painting. r.
we dont know WHAT is beyond that curve in the road.....or do we? or do we want/need to know? fascinating....
Maybe Grace, a small sign upsaying a marvellous private hotel with a "cordon-bleu" restaurant : " Au petit Bonheur de Provence " à 200 mètres sur la droite beau panorama Best

Gladly Mrs Snyder, but like Cecilia (Mia Farrow) in" The purple rose of Cairo" , we'll have to go through the painting !I'm going to read the short story " The man who could walk through walls" by Marcel Aymé. Maybe I shall find the solution...
and perhaps i shall try to paint it or better, that julian will.
