This looks and feels like a warm, happy painting.
much as i love color, this is beautiful, julian, and a treat to MY eyes since here is florida, it is always so bright. thanks for the difference.
Julian--what are those cool white bushes on the side of the road. My instinct (it's freezing here in boston today) was it must have snowed but I'm hoping those are just bursting blossoms. By the way, can't you just do a crappy painting once in a while.
Julian, you must be a magician. How can you capture such vista's in a little piece of paper with some gesso and some oils is nothing short of a miracle. Your oils are a delight for the eyes, the spirit and the hearth.
These trees in blossom look so odd...I have the strange feeling that they appear like dreamlike breaking waves. Impressive.
I too want to know what those amazing bushes are. They look to be covered with blossom and I wonder what...and how they smell and if they smell. It's a little beauty, this painting. Are they fruit trees already in blossom? Thanks
Yes, sorry, they are apricot trees. There's a big sign on the main road which proclaims "you are entering apricot country" (sounds better in french). I should have put that in the email - I couldn't fit it in the title.
Wow!!!!!!! In Toronto we are a long way from apricot blossoms. I love the layers of colour in this painting. Thanks Julian for all these excellent images.
