i wonder if the gold tree still shines a bit even in the dark and rain? i try to visualize how i would paint it. how would you?

Well if it wasn't dark I could see it from this window, I know it's losing it's leaves now, winter will soon be upon us. I think Nov 4th has been a key date over the last few years. I've not lit a fire in the chimney yet.

The wild flower actually looks like a chive flower which is growing in my herb garden.
It is a beautiful painting!

the stem of the flower is stunning--how you have captured the light and shadow on that skinny little reed is really cool.

i thought the same thing about that tiny stem!! amazing control, detail and shadow work julian. painting stems makes me crazy!
currently i am painting a still life where i am pairing an apple with another object...i have tried and swiped two different things and now on my third object! then i see this gorgeous and simple pairing--so perfect and simple. why i otta...
