I loved the way the last painting captured so much detail in the rough brush strokes that forced your mind to see what wasn't actually there and I equally love the stark clarity of this painting.
Yes Fern interesting that today I went for something so geometric - I imagined it like a de Stael all big square brushstrokes - maybe a reaction to yesterday's which was possibly too small to fully realise the effect I imagined at the outset. I'm working on larger versions of both so the results may be interesting.

Very rich! Beautiful! I have always greatly admired your work but, it seems since Venice, that you have developed some extra spark. The paintings from Venice are spectacular.

I've signed up for your daily postcards from provence and have enjoyed them so much over the past 2 weeks. Lately, however, they have stopped coming. Any reason for this? I so looked foward to receiving the gift of your postcards.
