Does this mean that you drink while you cook? And why not? The more interesting question is this: is the gold reflection in the glass from the onion, or something outside and above it?

The painting in it self has nothing to be criticized but how to explain this onions with this wine?

mario, i think anon has the right idea. the onion is the beginning of the cooking process, and a glass of wine always goes with it in our experience.
