Yes, hints of Cezanne, in the strong structure. This painting is very satisfying to look at. Seeing the distant road through the trees. Loose, strong, satisfying; I think you "hit the lick."

It's the lighting that really makes the picture alive. It is in the style of Cezanne and I really do like it.

I tend to think more of Monet's marvelous mediterreranean pieces when I look at these pines. J

Julian - I really like this one. The light and colours are both great but I think I like the composition element best. Maybe it's because I very much enjoy doing work which involves long distance views and know a little bit about some of the issues involved in making them work. Nice work!
